Biography:
In the 1780’s, an already established furniture-maker, Guillaume Beneman, was chosen to work for the royal family in Paris. He began repairing furniture and producing functional household objects but soon advanced to copying and altering existing furniture to match in the other royal residencies. Because of his quality work for his client, the royal family funded Beneman’s workshop and provided him with many tools and various equipment.
