Biography:
Andre-Charles Boulle was a French furniture designer known for his use of tortoiseshell, pewter, and brass. Around 1666, Boulle was given the title of master cabinetmaker and was given lodging in the Palais du Louvre in 1672. At this time, he also was a cabinetmaker and sculptor for Louis XIV of France.
