Biography:
Vincenzo Foppa was born near Brescia and worked there for sometime before training in Padua. The height o his career however was achieved while Foppa was in Pavia and Milan. He was the leading painter of the Lombard School until Leonardo da Vinci arrived in Milan in 1481.
