Biography:
Paul de Lamerie’s parents were French Huguenots who moved to England to avoid religious persecution in the late 1600’s. He was a talented and innovative silversmith who first began working in the Rococo style in the 1730’s. De Lamerie acquired his wealth by completing commissions and also producing other pieces to be sold at later dates. His workshop employed thirteen apprentices and also produced jewelry.
