Biography:
Austrian artist, Michael Pacher worked mostly at the Bruneck in the Tyrol, where he first appeared on record in 1467. He carved and painted many altarpieces for nearby churches. His most famous work is the St. Wolfganga altarpiece, located at the church of St. Wolfgang on the Abersee. Pacher’s sculpture in primarily late Gothic in style and he was also influenced by Italian painting, particularly Mantegna.
