Biography:
An Athenian potter, Pamphaios took over the workshop of Nikosthenes in 510 B.C. He produced over fifty known vases, painted in the red-figure technique by artists such as the Nikosthenes Painter, Oltos, and Epiktetos. The earliest known stamnos vase shape was signed by Pamphaios.
